Hind-di-Chadar Program
Period: February 10 – 26, 2026
The Department of Science and Humanities, Government Polytechnic, Miraj, successfully organized a series of programs under the Hind-di-Chadar initiative, commemorating the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji.
The “Hind-di-Chadar” (Shield of India) program aimed to educate students about the life, teachings, and supreme sacrifice of the ninth Sikh Guru, who laid down his life for religious freedom and human dignity .
Programs Conducted
The following activities were organized for all students:
Essay Writing Competition: Students expressed their thoughts on Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s legacy, his defense of religious freedom, and his message of communal harmony .
Speed (Debate/Elocution) Competition: Students participated in speech and debate events, reflecting on the values of courage, compassion, and interfaith solidarity .
Awareness Sessions on Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji’s Life and History: Interactive sessions were conducted to sensitize students about the Guru’s teachings, his role as a protector of faith, and the historical significance of his martyrdom .
